Fantastic Opportunity for a Science Teacher in Levenshulme!

Are you a dedicated and passionate Science educator looking for a new challenge? Teaching Personnel is delighted to present a full-time position for a Science Teacher at an Ofsted Good and diverse secondary school in Levenshulme. This role commences in September for the full academic year, with the possibility of permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is in line with PayScale (£30,000 - £46,525).

Role Overview:

As a Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating students in the fascinating world of Science. You will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and interactive lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics, fostering students' curiosity, critical thinking skills, and scientific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum and tailored to meet the diverse needs of students at various academic levels and abilities.

  • Practical Experiments: Conduct hands-on practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance students' understanding of scientific principles and promote inquiry-based learning.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' progress and attainment through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.

  • Differentiation: Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying learning styles, abilities, and needs, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to succeed in Science.

  • Inclusion and Diversity: Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity and respects the cultural backgrounds and identities of all students.

  • Cross-Curricular Links: Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate cross-curricular links and interdisciplinary learning experiences, helping students make connections between Science and other subjects.

  • Enrichment Activities: Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, STEM clubs, and Science-related events to enrich students' learning experiences and foster their interest in Science beyond the classroom.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science or related field.

  • Passion for Science education and a commitment to inspiring and motivating students to explore and excel in Science.

  • Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies, including the use of technology and resources to enhance Science education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
