Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Science teacher on behalf of our client school located in Bolton who have an upcoming gap within their Science department.

-          Full time Science teacher position from October 2020.

-          Temporary 12 month post initially (maternity leave).

-          Diverse community focused secondary school in central Bolton.

-          Ofsted graded ‘Good’ secondary school with roughly 1100 pupils on roll.

-          Pay in line with MPS1-UPS3 dependant upon scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490)

With a member of staff due to go on maternity leave in October, this high achieving secondary school have a rare opportunity for any Science teachers looking to join a well management and supportive school.

This school is oversubscribed and due to ever increasing pupils on roll there is the potential of a progressive roll following this initial temporary cover due to the Science department expanding. If you would like the opportunity to work within an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school which holds an excellent reputation then this could be the ideal position for you.


Applicants must hold UK QTS and a PGCE/Equivalent specialising in secondary Science (All specialisms considered, Physics, Biology and Chemistry). The ideal candidate will be confident building strong rapport with pupils and hold the ability to consistently deliver ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ practice. Staff within this department hold a shared vision based on providing every pupil with the highest standard of teaching and learning to ensure they achieve above and beyond their expected grades. Those passionate about raising pupil attainment and with proven records of achieving excellent results will fit perfectly into this position.

Within this new and exciting role, the successful applicant will be required to take on full responsibility of a timetable made up of both KS3 and GCSE classes ranging in ability. You will be required to plan and delivering engaging lessons, whereby you will have full access to excellent facilities and resources within this modern school.

This is a traditional mixed comprehensive 11-16 school located minutes from the M61. The school serves a diverse catchment area of pupils, with an average proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals. The proportion of students from minority ethnic groups is above that found nationally. The science department is well resourced and you will be joining 6 other members of teaching staff who are all motivated and driven to improving pupil attainment.
