Our client co-educational secondary school in the Altrincham area is looking for a Science teacher to start with them at the beginning of the new academic year in September. This science position has become available as a result of a maternity leave due to take place within their supportive Science department during the summer break. This Science teaching position will involve teaching all sciences at KS3 and KS4 with a focus on Physics in particular. If the successful scientist has a particular specialism other than Physics then there is a possibility to have a focus in the timetable directed towards this as the school are possibly able to move things around for the right candidate.

The Assistant Headteacher said of the science teaching position:

"Our science department is highly supportive being headed up by a passionate Head of faculty who is looking for a confident and able Science teacher to join their team. We are happy to accept applications from Newly Qualified Teachers who are looking for a successful teaching career being able to support with the successful scientist's NQT Induction year. Our school is situated in the well regarded area of Altrincham, set in very pleasant residential surroundings. We are looking for a subject specialist who is looking for a long term teaching position."

Highlights of this science teaching position:

  • Pay ranging between ÂŁ23,720 and ÂŁ39,406 per annum depending on payscale and experience
  • Full time science teaching position starting on Tuesday 3rd September for the duration of the 2019 - 2020 academic year
  • Particular focus on Physics teaching so any Physicists are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration
  • Initially on a supply basis with the opportunity to progress onto a school based permanent contract for the remainder of the maternity leave

This secondary school is a large mixed secondary school based in the Altrincham area, with a fantastic reputation amongst the schools in the area of Trafford. The senior leadership team is highly supportive of all staff members with the Assistant Headteacher and Head of Science working closely together in regards to ensuring the department is well resourced and fully staffed.

Given its location, the school has plenty of local transport links with the Metrolink tram travelling close to the school as well as the A56 running close to the school. The school itself is housed in a new building with excellent facilities and state of art laboratories as part of the science wing.
