Maths Teacher – Basingstoke

Full-Time | Long-Term Position | Planning and Marking Required

Teaching Personnel is working with a successful and inclusive secondary school in Basingstoke to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Maths Teacher for a long-term position.

This is a full teaching role where you will take responsibility for planning, delivering and marking Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will join a supportive department and have the opportunity to make a sustained impact on students’ confidence, attainment and enjoyment of Mathematics.

The Role

As a long-term Maths Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Marking work and providing constructive feedback
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress
  • Adapting lessons for different abilities and learning needs
  • Preparing students for assessments and GCSE examinations
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Creating a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom
  • Working collaboratively with the Maths department
  • Contributing to departmental planning and meetings
  • Supporting students’ academic and personal development

As this is a long-term position, you will take full responsibility for your timetable and provide students with the consistency required to make meaningful progress.

You will join a collaborative Maths department committed to delivering a structured and ambitious curriculum.

Colleagues work together to share resources, monitor progress and maintain consistent expectations. The successful teacher will be encouraged to contribute ideas, share effective practice and become fully involved in departmental life.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or a recognised equivalent
  • Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Demonstrates strong KS3 and KS4 subject knowledge
  • Can confidently undertake planning, marking and assessment
  • Sets high expectations for behaviour and progress
  • Explains mathematical concepts clearly
  • Adapts teaching to support different starting points
  • Demonstrates effective classroom management
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues
  • Is committed to safeguarding and student welfare
