Reception Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Early Years Practitioner, seeking work in the Blackburn with Darwen area.

Experienced Teaching Assistants and Newly Qualified Teachers welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time, temporary basis. The vacancy is to cover a maternity leave, which is due to commence on: Monday 20th April 2020 until Friday 18th December 2020.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who possesses School/Nursery experience and also the drive and commitment to raising standards in a classroom. You must be comfortable in your approach to support the delivery of the curriculum catered towards different types of learners. You must have a good command of English and sound written capabilities as well as GCSE Maths at C grade or above.  

Recent, successful experience of supporting in an EYFS department is essential, whether this be on a voluntary or paid basis. The said school views the Early Years as a crucial year in relation to children’s development and staff members are committed to ensuring pupils start their education off on the right foot. Excellent team-work skills are vital to the smooth running of the year group, due to the high number of staff members who work across the classes. You must be willing to get stuck into the full TA role and be able demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school. The successful candidate will demonstrate high expectations in regards to attainment and behaviour, and will promote the celebration of achievement and progression.

The school is Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ due to its rapid improvement led by a well-organised Head Teacher and a rejuvenated governing body. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs is well above average, as is the proportion of disadvantaged pupils supported by pupil premium funding. Staff members work very well together to make learning both interesting and memorable. Pupils say they always feel safe and well looked after. They attend school regularly and have very positive attitudes towards their learning.
