We’re currently recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work in a Secondary PRU in Salford, supporting students who have been excluded from previous schools and present with a range of behavioural and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Your Role Will Include:

Delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.

Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.

Supporting students with SEMH needs, using de-escalation and behaviour management strategies.

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.

Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to ensure consistent support.

Maintaining accurate records and reporting any safeguarding concerns in line with school policy.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have:

✅Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs (school, youth work, care, or similar settings).

✅Confidence in managing classroom dynamics and maintaining control.

✅A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour support.

✅Strong communication and teamwork skills.

✅Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic school environment.

Requirements:

✅ Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (Child & Adult Workforce)
✅ Two professional references covering the last 2 years
✅ Safeguarding training (provided by us)
✅ Full UK driving licence (preferred due to location and flexibility)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
