SEPTEMBER ROLE- Teaching Assistant at a GOOD Primary SEN School near Stocksmoor (HD8)
A primary special needs school we work closely with at Teaching Personnel are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work with all year groups on a whole class support basis. This role will require delivering intervention with small groups of pupils from EYFS - Year 6 and also supporting various pupils on a 1-2-1 basis to help raise pupil attainment across the Primary age range in; Reading, Writing and Maths. This is a versatile and fulfilling role and will be starting in the new academic year in September 2020.
Students in school have a range of special educational needs including autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and aspergers, some students also have physical disabilities. You will be required to support all students where needed and will have the opportunity to partake in specialist training such as Team Teach or Moving and Handling if required.
The School is located near Stocksmoor, Huddersfield (HD8) and has great accessibility via public transport from Huddersfield town centre and is easily accessible by car from the M1. This school is a GOOD school by Ofsted with lots of opportunities for teaching assistants to progress into future teachers. Candidates applying for this role must have at least achieved qualifications at level 2 or level 3.

- Candidates must have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
- Candidates must be available school hours (8:30 - 3:30)
- Candidates must have previous experience supporting children in a professional capacity in the last 12 months
- Candidates must have a positive attitude and have experience working with young people
- Candidates must be enthusiastic and confident when working with primary school aged children of all levels and abilities
- Candidates need to be open to trial days and providing one-to-one support for pupils of lower abilities or pupils with SEN
- Candidates must have an up to date CV and be willing to provide at least 2 references
