We are looking for 'Recently Qualified' Teachers to work on a supply basis at our client Primary Schools on both day to day and longer term bookings.

If you have completed your induction year for your QTS in the last 12 months, and are living in York, we would love to hear from you! Ideally we seek Teachers who live in YO10, YO19, YO24, YO30, YO31 or YO32 Postcodes, or very close by. Working with Teaching Personnel, the UK's largest education recruitment consultancy, you will be attending our already established client Schools for day to day bookings, Week by Weeks placements for course cover, or attending for longer term bookings such as maternity cover or long term sickness cover.

We require teachers who have just completed their QTS induction, therefore will have the relevant qualifications to attain 'Qualified Teacher Status'. We have work across all year groups available, so EYFS, KS1 and KS2 specialities all welcome.

The ideal candidate will have access to transport (private or public), as working location may vary. Depending on the duration of the booking, your roles and responsibilities may include (but not be limited to):

  • To plan and deliver the teaching programme, ensuring it is adaptive and differentiated to all the class pupils and their abilities, either following work left for you, or delivering on your own planning (by arrangement)
  • Ensuring each lesson has a structure which maintains pace and motivation to challenge and aid pupil progress
  • Establishing high expectations of pupil behaviour and classroom management to ensure effective teaching
  • Maintaining a safe, supportive and secure environment in which the pupils can learn
  • Regularly setting ambitious, yet achievable targets for Pupils, and monitor progress and attainment closely
  • Continually developing learning resources and activities, adapting materials to ensure each child’s individual needs are met
  • Through shared knowledge between practitioners, to build and maintain effectively informative relationships with parents/guardians
  • To mark and monitor class work and homework, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for future progress
  • To Coordinate (and liaise with) Teaching Assistants to ensure appropriate pupils’ educational needs for support are met and monitor progress
  • Take responsibility for your own teacher development needs and identify areas where continuous professional development courses may be of use
  • To attend meetings, reviews, and training in accordance with the School policy

Working with Teaching Personnel you will:

  • Have access to CPD courses to continue your own skills and learning
  • Receive competitive weekly pay directly to your bank account - without paying umbrella companies
  • Have flexibility of managing your own timetable using your own online diary
