Job description

Position: Cover Supervisor with Specialism in Mathematics – Immediate Commencement

A well‑regarded secondary institution in the Blackburn area is seeking to appoint an accomplished Cover Supervisor with a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, evidenced by a degree in Mathematics or an equivalent discipline. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structured GCSE Mathematics intervention alongside providing high‑quality classroom supervision as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver focused intervention sessions aimed at improving pupil outcomes in GCSE Mathematics.
  • Provide effective and professional classroom supervision across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with the Mathematics department to monitor pupil progress and implement appropriate support strategies.
  • Maintain a calm, orderly, and purposeful learning environment in line with school policies.
  • Uphold high standards of conduct, safeguarding, and academic integrity at all times.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in Mathematics (or a closely aligned subject).
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and behaviour‑management skills.
  • A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Previous experience within an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
