Teacher - Full Time

Derby City area

Are you bored of working in mainstream education and want a new challenge? Do you want to work with classes of 6 - 10 instead of planning and marking for large numbers of students?

If you are a Teacher who is looking to gain experience working in SEND provisions, we would love to hear from you! We have clients based in the following areas of Derby and Derbyshire:

  • Breadsall Hilltop
  • Belper
  • Mickleover
  • Eggington
  • Littleover
  • Ilkeston
  • Long Eaton
  • Burton on Trent

It is not essential that you hold SEN experience, as we can upskill you with various training courses including our Tutor Toolkit, Autism Awareness, Managing Behaviour, Safeguarding and many more! 

We would welcome applications from Teachers with any of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in mainstream classes (primary or secondary) where there may be SEND children who require additional support
  • An interest in working with SEND children and a passion for making a difference to these young people
  • Experience working in inclusion units or SEND provisions attached to mainstream schools
  • Personal experience of SEND (e.g. through friends or relatives)
  • Prior experience in any carer or support worker roles
  • A knowledge of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and/or Autism and how to support children with Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Confident to manage challenging behaviour and support children with limited communication
  • Willing to undertake any CPD required and learn 'on the job' with support from our partnership schools and from dedicated Teaching Personnel SEND consultants
  • Nurturing, with a calm and patient personality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
