Primary Teacher – Portland

Location: Portland, Dorset
Salary: £120 – £140 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time (part-time considered)
Start: September 2025 (or sooner)


Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher ready to inspire young minds?

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a friendly, community-focused primary school in Portland, seeking a Primary Class Teacher to join their team from September 2025. The school is looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, and a love of teaching to the classroom.

This opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).


About the Role

  • Full class teaching responsibility in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 (year group assigned based on your strengths and preference)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Monitor and support pupil progress in line with school and national expectations
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and senior leaders
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

✅ Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Have recent experience teaching in a UK primary school (placements count)
  • Be confident with the National Curriculum and effective classroom management
  • Have (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
  • Be proactive, organised, and committed to raising standards

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
