Full-Time Year R Teacher – Southampton
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Position: Year R Teacher
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: March 2025
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Year R Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher who is passionate about Early Years education and eager to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that support the development of children in Year R.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Promote social, emotional, and academic growth through creative teaching methods.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
- Assess children’s development and plan next steps to ensure individual learning needs are met.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively and consistently.
- Support children in developing their communication, literacy, and numeracy skills in a fun and engaging way.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT).
- Have experience or a genuine passion for teaching in Early Years (Year R).
- Be committed to creating a positive, nurturing learning environment for young children.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be enthusiastic, patient, and able to engage with children in a creative and supportive way.
- Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Hold a valid DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
