PMLD Teaching Assistant - Catterick (DL10)

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a lovely SEND school in Catterick (DL10), who are recruiting for a PMLD specialist Teaching Assistant to support in their KS3/4 classrooms. The role will commence immediately on a temporary basis, with the strong potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate. In this school, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced SEND teachers and teaching assistants as well as benefiting from Teaching Personnel's exceptional training programmes and competitive pay rates.

The successful candidate will be required to assist with personal care as well as helping them with their day to day learning routines. You must be proactive and enthusiastic as well as be looking to make a real difference with the students, a Moving and Handling qualification is desirable but not mandatory. Ideally, you will have experience working in an educational setting supporting students with SEND, particularly with PLMD or SLD; however individuals with a desire to work in this field or with relevant care experience will also be strongly considered.

The ideal candidate will have:

-At least 3 months experience working with SEND students

-A patient and nurturing manner

-An understanding/knowledge of PMLD and SLD

-Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant care experience!)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
