Salary: NJC 12 – FTE £27,711 per annum (pro rata £24,340.74)

Role Responsibilities

As a Pastoral Leader, you will:

• Set and maintain high expectations for student behaviour and wellbeing
• Provide dedicated pastoral and behavioural support to students across a year group
• Liaise effectively with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes
• Supervise student entry each morning, addressing uniform, appearance, or other concerns
• Monitor attendance in collaboration with the attendance team and follow up on issues
• Maintain accurate records using Bromcom or other school systems
• Monitor and contribute to behaviour logs, support plans, and reports
• Support disciplinary procedures and prepare relevant documentation
• Facilitate and attend meetings with parents and other stakeholders
• Maintain a visible presence around the school and respond to issues as they arise
• Participate in the remove rota and provide additional safeguarding and welfare support

What We're Looking For

• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Experience working in a school or educational setting is essential
• Strong ICT skills relevant to administrative and pastoral responsibilities
• Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality requirements in schools
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Experience in social care or a recognised qualification is desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• A track record of ongoing professional development
