Passionate SEN TA Required
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with Special Needs experience to work at an SEN school to assist in supporting their staff and special needs pupils with severe and complex needs. This includes physical and learning difficulties, autistic and non-verbal pupils, as well as speech and language difficulties.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs, but this is not essential. They need to be happy to carry out some personal care, so a background in Healthcare would be helpful. There are some non-verbal pupils in attendance, so a qualification or experience in Makaton or PEC's will be beneficial. The Teaching Assistant will also:
- Be able to multitask and have the flexibility to help in a variety of situations.
- Be happy to work in small groups and on a one to one basis.
- Be happy to get involved in the daily activities, such as swimming etc
The ideal candidate will also need to have the ability to work well in a team, as you will be working closely alongside other TA's and Teachers within the classroom.
A typical school day will start at 08:30 and finish at 15:30. The staff are friendly and supportive, and the school has been rated Outstanding in their latest Ofsted report! The TA will need to get involved with the pupils right from the start, and demonstrate an effective approach. Those who are interested will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon undergoing a vetting process.
If this sounds like your perfect role, please email your CV for consideration. Alternatively, we do receive roles in many other schools for both long term and day to day supply work.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
