RE Teacher

Location: Skelmersdale

Contract: Full‑time

Start Date: September 2026 or sooner

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated RE Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking Humanities/RE Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to begin their career in a highly supportive environment.

You will deliver engaging, high‑quality RE lessons that inspire students, promote thoughtful discussion, and encourage respect, reflection, and a deeper understanding of different faiths, beliefs, and ethical issues. You will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the ability to deliver GCSE Religious Studies being highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

-          Deliver dynamic, well‑structured RE lessons across KS3–KS4 that engage, challenge, and inspire all learners.

-          Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing clear and constructive feedback.

-          Play an active role in shaping and strengthening the RE curriculum through collaborative planning and resource development.

-          Uphold high standards of behaviour, creating a positive and purposeful classroom environment.

-          Contribute fully to departmental teamwork, CPD, meetings, and whole‑school initiatives.

-          Support students’ academic, social, moral, and personal development, ensuring they feel valued and motivated.

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

-          Strong subject knowledge in Religious Education and related ethical/philosophical topics.

-          A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development.

-          An understanding of or willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
