Location: Preston

Contract: Full‑time

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated Humanities Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking Humanities Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to begin their career in a highly supportive environment.

You will deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire students, foster a love of Humanities subjects, and drive strong progress across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach Humanities at GCSE level (History, Geography, or Religious Studies) is desirable, though flexibility is available depending on your specialism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3–KS4.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities department.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and uphold strong classroom management.
  • Take part in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole‑school initiatives.
  • Support the academic and personal development of all learners.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
