Future Teachers Programme

Bournemouth

£23,000 - £27,000 per annum

Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching and looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school environment?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Bournemouth seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join their Future Teachers Programme. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to develop their classroom skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore a long-term career in education before undertaking formal teacher training.

The programme is designed to provide graduates with practical experience in schools, helping them build confidence, develop classroom management skills, and gain a thorough understanding of day-to-day school life.

The Role

As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you will work within a secondary school supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects. You will gradually develop your confidence within the classroom while working alongside experienced teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences
  • Supporting pupils in lessons to ensure they remain engaged and on task
  • Assisting with small group and one-to-one interventions
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining classroom expectations
  • Helping students prepare for assessments and examinations
  • Supporting departments within your specialist subject area where possible
  • Contributing to the wider school community and extracurricular activities

This role provides an excellent introduction to teaching and offers first-hand experience of working in a busy secondary school setting.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in any subject area
  • Be considering a future career in teaching or education
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and willing to take on new challenges
  • Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting young people

Previous experience working with young people, through coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, voluntary work, or similar settings, would be beneficial but is not essential.

What the Programme Offers

  • Competitive salary of £23,000 - £27,000 per annum
  • Full-time role starting in January
  • Valuable classroom experience prior to teacher training
  • Ongoing support from experienced education consultants
  • Access to CPD and professional development opportunities
  • PAYE payment structure with no umbrella company involvement
  • Opportunities to secure permanent school-based positions
  • A clear pathway towards teacher training and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Why Join the Future Teachers Programme?

Many graduates know they want to teach but are looking for the opportunity to gain school-based experience before committing to a training route. This programme allows you to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make an informed decision about your future career while making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

If you are passionate about education and ready to take the first step towards a rewarding teaching career, we would love to hear from you.
