Office Admin
Job description
We are looking for an organised, friendly and proactive Office Administrator to join our busy primary school office. This is a key role at the heart of the school, supporting staff, pupils, parents, and visitors. Previous experience working in a primary school office is essential.
Position: Primary School Office Administrator
Contract: Full-time hours: 8.30am – 4pm
Location: Burnley
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2026
Salary: £14.30 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to parents, pupils, staff, and visitors
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries
- Maintain accurate school records, attendance data, and SIMS/Arbor entries
- Support with admissions, pupil files, and safeguarding documentation
- Assist with administrative tasks such as letters, reports, newsletters, and data collection
- Provide support for school events, meetings, and general daily operations
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working in a primary school office
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Experience using school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, ParentPay)
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
- Ability to stay calm, flexible, and efficient in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A positive, supportive and team‑focused approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
