We are working closely with a special needs school based in Ealing who are looking to appoint a Nursery Teacher to lead a small Early Years class. This teacher position will be in the school’s profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) department which provides bespoke learning and therapy programmes for children with medical conditions.

The school based in Greenford has two state-of-the-art departments fully facilitated for children with autism and profound multiple learning needs. Nursery Teachers will have full access to the amazing resources throughout the school along with up to 4 special need (PMLD) assistants in class. This teacher role is full-time Monday to Friday (8:30 – 4pm) starting in September 2020 and will be for two terms minimally with potential for permanent opportunities.  

Nursery Teachers will be expected to plan and deliver 1:1 and in small groups lessons based on termly topics. EYFS Teachers will be expected to assess, record and report progress alongside liaise with staff, parents and guardians and attend meetings.  

Some pupils in class will be learning below national level (P scales), non-verbal, have sensory needs, limited speech and/or be in wheelchairs. Having confidence adapting EYFS framework and/or national curriculum for children with special needs (or EHCP statement) will be vital.

If you are a QUALIFIED NURSERY TEACHER (QTS/PGCE) with experience in any of the following send your CV today:

  • Nursery/Early Years Teaching
  • Planning and teaching lessons based on the EYFS framework or primary curriculum for children with EHCPs
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Medical needs, Severe Learning Difficulties, Sensory impairments and/or speech difficulties
  • Ealing Request for Statutory Assessment (ERSA) forms
  • Use of sensory and visual resources such as PECS, Makaton and EyeGaze
  • Supporting with physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and/or occupational therapy
  • Training such as Objects of Reference and/or Multi-sensory approaches

All Nursery Teachers interested in this position in EALING must be willing to interview prior and provide relevant documentation, qualifications, and references to work in this Special Needs School.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
