Night Support Worker
Location: Cranborne, Dorset
Hourly rate: £12.37 - £13.49 + £25 per night shift worked (approx. an additional £4,000 per year)
Annual Salary: £28,141.75 - £30,689.75
Contract: full-time - we have 1 x permanent, and 1x 12 month fixed term contract available
Hours: 7.45pm-8.15am- 4 on 4 off shifts- average of 43.75 hours per week.

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity working with a large SEN College, they are looking for a full time Night support worker. The College support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional and mental health needs, by preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training or employment.

Key duties:

  • Ensure that all young people receive a high standard of care and live in a safe, clean and homely environment.
  • Ensure that each young person is treated as an individual
  • Ensure that the health needs of the young people are met at all times
  • Take responsibility for the shift including making decisions regarding staffing levels and allocation in the absence of the Night Team Manager.
  • Complete regular supervisions and support the process of formal performance review.
  • Ensure Keyworker responsibilities are carried out
  • Take team meetings once a month
  • Keep records accurate and up-to-date in order to ensure information on the young person supports and informs reviews and development plans for the individual including documentation relating to learning, behaviour and well-being outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  •  Willingness to participate, be positive and creative in meeting our young person’s needs
  • Able to support and develop independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, housekeeping as well as accessing the wider community
  • Ability to prompt / encourage in a positive manner whilst providing social/emotional behavioural support
  • Ability to show a strong understanding of what “good care” looks like and how to put the young person’s needs first, whilst empowering them to be independent
  • Due to our rural location access to transport and a drivers licence is essential
  • Given the age of our students all applicants must be 21 and over

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
