Maths Tutor
Job description
TP Tutors are currently working with Local Authorities and Schools in the Darlington area, who are seeking maths tutors to help provide children with the academic support to achieve their mathematic goals.
We are looking for a passionate individual who strives to support children either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to maximise the children’s potential in all aspects of Maths. This role may require to work outside of the mainstream setting.
This role includes:
- Planning, creating, and teaching engaging sessions.
- Tracking progress of children, planning their next steps and providing constructive feedback
- Implementing behaviour strategies to ensure the children are focused.
- Being aware of the child’s needs and interest, using this to adopt a child-centred approach to learning.

Tutor Requirements:
- Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualifies Teacher Status, QTS).
- Substantial teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one can be provided)
- Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
