Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a specialist setting in Leeds who are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher to start in September. The position will be on a temporary basis for the first term with the possibility of going permanent after the first 12 weeks.
The school provides specialist education for students aged 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream school due to their social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH), behaviour needs and for specific child safety needs. The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed teacher with experience of working with children with SEMH who is able to create and deliver engaging maths lessons that will re-engage disengaged learners through vocational, hands-on practical examples.
What they are looking for:
- High quality practitioner with with excellent classroom engagement skills.
- Experience teaching students with SEMH is ideal however they will accept someone who is willing to learn and has strong knowledge around the needs of students with SEMH.
- Ability to teach Mathematics to KS4.
- Creates engaging, hand on lessons with functional maths examples to make lessons more relatable to real life.
- Someone who has patience and understands that students needs means they may require more time to complete class work.
