Exciting Opportunity: Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a recent Maths graduate with a passion for education? Do you enjoy supporting students to reach their full potential in mathematics? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted good secondary school in Bramhall.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Maths department to provide support to students across different year groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive maths lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support to students who may require additional help or clarification.

  2. Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare and organize teaching materials, resources, and equipment for maths lessons, ensuring that they are accessible and tailored to meet the needs of individual students.

  3. Individualized Support: Providing targeted support to students with varying levels of mathematical ability, helping them to develop their problem-solving skills, confidence, and understanding of key concepts.

  4. Assessment and Feedback: Assisting in the assessment process by marking and providing feedback on students' work, tracking their progress, and identifying areas for improvement.

  5. Maths Intervention: Supporting the implementation of intervention programs aimed at boosting students' attainment in maths, monitoring their progress, and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.

  6. Behaviour Management: Implementing behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting good conduct and respectful behaviour among students.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject is essential, along with a genuine passion for the subject and a desire to inspire and motivate students to succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students of all abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality maths education.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards supporting students' learning and development.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
