Mathematics teacher - Wigan

Full-time Mathematics teacher required - April 2019 start.

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a mixed comprehensive 11-16 secondary school situated in Wigan to appoint a full-time Mathematics teacher to join their department from April 2019 (following the Easter break).

This position is due to a current member of staff relocating, and therefore is a permanent role. Due to the urgency of the vacancy, the school will appoint the successful Mathematics teacher initially on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with the view of securing a permanent contract from September 2019.

*Both experienced and newly qualified Mathematics teachers are welcome to apply for this position, and support will be provided from the department.*

"Our Mathematics department consists of twelve Mathematics teachers, who work collaboratively to ensure that all students are making at least the expected progress within Mathematics. The successful Mathematics teacher will be joining a successful team, will have their own classroom and will be supported throughout departmental meetings and planning sessions."   • Full-time Mathematics teaching position available, Easter 2019 start.
  • Previous evidence of 'good' and 'outstanding' teaching is compulsory.
  • Pay in line with teaching experience (£23,720 - £39,406 per annum).

  • Mixed comprehensive 11-16 secondary school located in Wigan.

The school have requested that the incoming Mathematics teacher has experience planning, delivering and assessing differentiated work across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four, and is willing to partake in departmental responsibilities for planning, marking and attending meetings.

Situated near to the Ashton-in-Makerfield area of Wigan, our partner secondary school is average in size with approximately 850 pupils on roll. Access to the school can be obtained via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the M6. There are also an abundance of public transportation links that lead to the school from Warrington, Leigh and St Helens.
