Job description

1:1 Tutor – Towcester Area

TP Tutors are seeking passionate educators who are committed to making a difference in children’s lives by helping them achieve their academic goals and improve their engagement with learning.

This role involves working closely with students on a 1:1 basis, delivering high-quality tutoring sessions in English and Maths to support their progress and confidence. Many learners may currently be outside of mainstream education and require additional academic support.

Tutoring sessions will take place in students’ homes or local libraries in and around the Towcester area.

Tutor Requirements

  • Professional teaching qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status – QTS).

  • Strong subject knowledge of English and Maths at KS3 level.

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs.

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through TP Tutors (support will be provided).

This Role Involves

  • Planning and delivering engaging sessions for students working below expected levels.

  • Using behavioural strategies to keep learners motivated and engaged.

  • Developing a child-centred approach to learning based on the student’s needs and interests.

  • Assessing progress, providing constructive feedback, and planning next steps to support improvement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
