1:1 Tutor – Kettering

Location: Kettering and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Setting: Pupil's home or school setting
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Kettering. Tuition sessions will take place either in the pupil's home or within a school setting during school hours.

This rewarding role involves providing personalised learning support to pupils who may require additional academic assistance, helping them build confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition tailored to the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support academic progress and personal development.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of tuition sessions and learning outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in a school, tutoring, or educational setting.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and strong communication skills.
  • Experience delivering personalised learning and intervention support.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners on a one-to-one basis.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Kettering and surrounding areas.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, or those receiving alternative provision.
  • Experience supporting pupils who are disengaged from mainstream education.
