1:1 Tutor – Daventry

Location: Daventry and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you an experienced teacher looking to make a real difference?

We are currently recruiting dedicated and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Daventry and the surrounding areas. Tuition will take place in pupils' homes or within school settings during school hours, providing tailored educational support to help students achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will work with pupils who require additional academic support due to a variety of needs, including gaps in learning, SEND, SEMH needs, or being out of mainstream education. You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that help pupils build confidence, improve attainment, and re-engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition sessions.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils in achieving academic and personal development goals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback when required.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in the UK.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and classroom experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Daventry and surrounding areas.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or alternative provision learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
