Secondary 1:1 Tutor – Kettering (NN16)

Location: This role covers Kettering (NN16) and surrounding areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations across the local area.

Hours: School hours (Monday to Friday)
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

TP Tutors is seeking experienced and passionate Secondary 1:1 Tutors to deliver high-quality, personalised tuition to students in their homes or school settings during school hours.

This rewarding role is ideal for teachers and educators who are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work with secondary-aged pupils who may have SEND, SEMH needs, medical needs, or be accessing alternative education provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each student's individual needs.
  • Support students across core subjects or your specialist subject area.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, motivation, and academic progress.
  • Monitor student development and maintain accurate session records.
  • Work independently while liaising with schools, families, and the TP Tutors team.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK schools (essential).
  • Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to travel between tuition locations.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those in alternative provision.
  • Previous experience delivering one-to-one tuition.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
