Job description

Secondary 1:1 Tutor – Kettering(NN14 Area)

Location: This role covers NN14 and surrounding areas, including Rothwell, Desborough, Thrapston, Oundle and nearby villages. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations across the local area.

Hours: School hours (Monday to Friday)
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

Inspire, Support and Make a Difference

TP Tutors is looking for experienced and dedicated Secondary 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to students in their homes or school settings during school hours.

This rewarding opportunity involves supporting secondary-aged learners who may be out of mainstream education, have SEND, SEMH needs, medical needs, or require additional support to help them achieve their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, tailored one-to-one lessons that meet each student's individual learning needs.
  • Teach core subjects or your specialist subject area to secondary-aged pupils.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and academic progress.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback where required.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, and the TP Tutors team.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK schools (essential).
  • Experience teaching secondary-aged students.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to travel between tuition locations.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or those accessing alternative provision.
  • Previous experience delivering one-to-one tuition.
