Teaching Personnel are supporting the Governors of an oversubscribed secondary school based in the Leigh area of Wigan to recruit a skilled Mathematics teacher on a full-time basis from September 2019 or earlier. This position is guaranteed for for twelve months, with the view of securing a fixed term post if suited well to the school.

Due to a recent restructure within the department this Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school is seeking to appoint an experienced Mathematics teacher to work across Key Stages 3 and 4 taking on full responsibilities for planning, marking and assessing.

  • Full-time Mathematics teacher required from September 2019, or sooner if possible.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school.
  • Must hold QTS alongside subject specific qualifications within Mathematics to be considered.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406.

This large secondary school is located in the Leigh area of Wigan; it has consistently demonstrated a good approach towards dynamic student centred teaching and learning.

The responsibilities for the successful Mathematics teacher will include:

  • Accountable to Mathematics Curriculum Leader during and throughout post.
  • Promote outstanding pedagogy across the school, and demonstrate outstanding practice.
  • Identify clear objectives and content within Mathematics for all pupils including how these will be taught, evaluated and assessed.
  • Organise a stimulating and inspiring learning environment.
  • Ensure regulations regarding Health and Safety are maintained both within the Mathematics department and the school.

The school has just over 1686 pupils on roll aged 11-16, and is located in Wigan. It can be easily accessed from the surrounding areas; Salford, Preston and Bolton. There is also an abundance of public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester and St Helens.
