Maths Tutor Position
Location – Trowbridge (BA14)
Monday to Thursday Working Week
Salary - £25,410 - £39,000 per annum (pro rata)
Hours – 8:30am – 4:30pm

We are currently looking for a math tutor to assist students aged between 16 – 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) which can include students who may experience anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural needs, and communication difficulties. Empathy, compassion, and understanding are key in this role, and you will be pivotal in creating a safe, nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Position Details:
- Start Date – Immediate and continuing until the end of the academic year
- Working Hours – 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (Term time only)
- Location – Trowbridge (BA14)
- On-site parking and accessible bus routes
- Potential to go onto a contact with the school itself .
What You’ll do:
- Provide professional one-on-one support for students and support them within their learning.
- Plan, deliver and provide feedback for these individual students to support their academic growth
- Develop strong supportive relationships with students, guiding there emotional and academic development
- Support vulnerable young people helping to improve their emotional wellbeing raise their aspirations to learn and support them in achieving their potential
Who we are looking for?
- No Experience Necessary, while experience is beneficial, we value dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
- A confident individual who feels can successfully teach and deliver a math curriculum to the highest level of their ability
- You should be able to effectively communicate with children and manage challenging behaviour in a positive way.
- A compassionate individual who has the ability to help students improve their skills whilst showing them empathy.
- If you’ve worked with SEN/SEMH children or have personal experience with mental health challenges, that’s a bonus, but it’s not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
