Makaton Specialist Teaching Assistant - Cambridge

A welcoming 2 form primary school are looking to enhance their school by adding focus for a specialist provision for speech and language, this school is found in Central Cambridge and is an exceptional school for those wanting to carve a career in speech therapy. You will be working in a friendly and efficient team of staff who all have the pupils' progress and development at the forefront of everything they do.

If you are a dynamic graduate or already hold experience as a teaching assistant who wants to help pupils through the vital early stages of education, this Makaton Specialist Teaching Assistant role at a welcoming primary school with a provision for speech and language could be for you.

What they are looking for-

Ideally you will need to be a committed graduate who has a calm and caring approach to your work, . You should possess a commitment and passion for the educational, academic and social well-being of pupils with SEN. You will need to have knowledge, and ideally training, in Makaton and PECS as this role is to support children with speech and language needs.

What you will be doing-


In this Makaton Specialist Teaching Assistant post you will be supporting children in KS1 who have SPLCN within this school's specialist provision. As a Makaton Specialist Teaching Assistant you will be working on communication development and will use Makaton as a communication tool. You will contribute to ensuring that the learning environment is always inclusive and it is important that you learn how to create and modify learning materials.
