Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Special Needs Primary School, Basingstoke
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Location: Basingstoke
Start: January
A special needs primary school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive and inclusive team from January. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop key skills, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

Help to create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.

Support pupils with personal development, social skills, and emotional regulation.
-
Contribute to the wider school community with a proactive and caring attitude.
Requirements:

Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting (desirable but not essential).

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
-
Reliability, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
