Are you a qualified Learning Support Assistant seeking an exciting new opportunity to support young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you wish to work with children and young people within a supportive primary school which encourages professional development amongst all staff?

If so, there is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Learning Support Assistant to join the flourishing SEN department, in the new academic year.

  • Full-time, permanent Learning Support Assistant role (term time only).
  • Commencing September 2021 depending on the successful candidate.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people is essential.
  • Competitive rates of pay (subject to relevant qualification and previous experience).
  • Situated in Newcastle upon Tyne, it is easily accessible via the A167(M). 

The purpose of the Learning Support Assistant will be to ensure outstanding support is provided for all young people with their learning and supporting class teachers in all areas of the school day. You will have previous experience working with young people with learning needs, a proven ability to work within a team and adapt to varying needs within the role. 

As the successful post-holder, you will need to establish a welcoming, compassionate, and helpful rapport with pupils to provide them with the best support, tailored to their individual needs. As well as demonstrating a proven ability to successfully manage behaviour, encourage independence and can work well within a team.

In return, you will receive ongoing support and training for your role and continued professional development. You will also have access to modern resources within state-of-the-art facilities, located across a large established site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
