Learning Support Assistant

We are currently offering an SEN Teaching Assistant job working within the Special Needs Department. As a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant you'll work with children with SEN who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning, to reach their full educational potential. This could include working with children with Autism, ADHD, PMLD and other additional and complex needs.

This school requires an SEN Learning Support Assistant who is available to start immediately when schools return to normal oepning. We are aware that this is an unceratin time however we are working with a number of SEN schools who are still open and looking for staff to join them once social distancing ceases, whenever this may be.

. You will be supporting the child to develop their independent learning within the classroom and gain confidence in their learning. You will work closely with the class teachers and 2 other support assistants to provide assistance for individual children helping them to access the curriculum within the classroom.

This will be a full-time role, 5 days a week during regular schol hours.

The ideal candidate will have:

-SEND Teaching assistant experience, team teach training would be desirable but not essential

-Strong behaviour management skills

-Team working skills to liaise with other teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals such as speech and language therapists and social workers as you will be working very closely with these professionals to ensure the best all round care for students
