Learning Support Assistant

Learning Support Assistant required for an 'Outstanding' client Secondary school in Bolton.

Are you a Graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant wishing to pursue a career in education? Would you be interested in a rewarding position within a supportive Secondary school, whereby you can make a positive impact on students and their learning in school?

If you have previous experience working with children and young people, and would like to take full advantage of this full time opportunity, please see below;

  • Full time Learning Support Assistant - required in September 2018
  • Supporting the learning of students who require additional guidance during lessons
  • Pay in line with previous experiences (between ÂŁ1000 - ÂŁ1200 per month)
  • 12 month temporary position starting in the new academic year
  • Located in Bolton, accessible via the M61

Our client Secondary school wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their Support faculty in September 2018. The Senior Leadership Team at the school have recently reviewed the progress of students that were enrolled to the school during this academic year and have identified that they will require an additional Learning Support Assistant in September to stretch the learning of students and what they can achieve in class.

The role;

  • Working with students on a 1:1 basis supporting them in core subject areas (Maths, English and Science)
  • Running small intervention classes with students that are falling behind in class.
  • Helping to manage the behaviour of individuals, ensuring that they remain on task and are focused during lessons.
  • Working closely with the Heads of Department and class teachers to ensure pupils are making constant improvements and working towards their progress targets.

Our client Secondary school is located in Farnworth, Bolton and serves a wide catchment area within and beyond Bolton. The school is a larger than the average Secondary school and has been graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. The school has strong public transport links and can be easily accessible from surrounding areas; Bolton, Bury, Salford and Wigan.
