A school in Tameside is seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join the support staff team.
Requirements for this role:
- Must hold a degree or be a qualified Teaching Assistant.
- Hold previous experience working with vulnerable children or adults on individual basis.
- Have the ability to work across a variety of subjects.
As a Learning Support Assistant, the role will focus on providing extended individual support to children across a broad range of ages and abilities. Many of these students will have EAL requirements, as well as other specific SEN arrangements. The role will focus on providing consistent support to students, supporting full time teaching staff as well as creating resources for students.
It is expected that the applicant will be confident in their approach, and will be able to ensure that students adhere to all school policies at all times. This includes maintaining student behaviour standards, whilst ensuring that all pupils are aware of expectations both within the classroom as well as across the school s
This presents itself as an excellent opportunity to obtain school based experience, which will directly aid the applicants application on to a PGCE or related teacher training course.
Working through Teaching Personnel will allow the applicant pay through PAYE, as well as the opportunity for potential further temporary/flexible work, as well as potential longer team/fixted term work.
The school:
- Located in Tameside, the school is a short distance from the following areas: Oldham, Dukinfield, Hyde, Denton, Ashton Under Lyne, Glossop.
- Public transport links located close by, as well as motorway links also within close proximity of the school site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
