Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School – Manchester
A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Manchester is looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team and provide vital assistance to students with additional learning needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on students' educational journeys.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum effectively.

Adapt and prepare learning materials under the guidance of teaching staff to support individual learning plans.

Assist with classroom activities, promoting active participation and engagement.
-
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
-
Foster positive and trusting relationships with students to support their confidence, independence, and social development.

Support behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic student support.
Candidate Requirements:
-
Experience working with SEN students or in a similar educational support role is preferred.
-
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with young people.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
-
DBS clearance is mandatory prior to starting the role.
Contract Details:
-
Term time, with flexible options for part-time or full-time hours.
-
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
