Graduate Learning Support Assistant required to join a Grantham based secondary school starting in October of the new academic year.

Our client secondary school situated in Grantham is looking to take on a passionate graduate to fulfil a Learning Support Assistant position. This is a full time Learning Support role for a confident and motivated graduate who is keen to work within a secondary school environment.

This full time position is due to start in October of the new academic year. The school returns in September but are using the first 4 weeks of the new academic year to identify the specific year 7 cohort of students who require additional assistance. The school are therefore looking for a Learning Support Assistant that can support and work with year 7 student's transition more comfortably to secondary school. Any experience of working with 10/11 year olds, is highly beneficial.

Learning Support Assistant role:

This role will involve supporting students at KS3 year 7 in the main, working closely with small groups of students making the prospect of secondary school less daunting. Acting as a general class assistant and a Learning Support Assistant should come as second nature. There may also be opportunities to support students who are excelling in their studies as well as opportunity to support students who have been identified as falling behind their peers. If you have been a mentor previously or have tutored students in any environment, then apply now for immediate consideration.

Highlights of this Learning Support Assistant position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience but likely range between £285 - £335 per week
  • Full time Learning Support Assistant required, ideally to start in October 2019
  • Duration: full academic year's work supporting year 7s as well as other students requiring assistance
  • Highly supportive and academic secondary school situated in Grantham

Graduates from any subject specialism are encouraged to apply; especially those from an English, Maths or Science subject background. There will be elements of the support which is required in these subjects. However, graduates from any degree discipline will be considered and are highly encouraged to apply as long as you have prior experience of supporting students.

The school are ideally looking for an enthusiastic graduate who is perhaps looking to pursue a career in the education sector in the future. This role will be an ideal platform for any graduate to gain valuable experience at a highly reputable secondary school.
