Role
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school who looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to provide a complementary service to existing teachers and associated staff, addressing the needs of children to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school in order to achieve their full potential. The role requires someone who is passionate about developing children's learning and building confidence through imaginative, structured and innovative interventions. The Schools drive is to support pupils overcome any social, emotional or behavioural barriers promoting resilience and embedding effective coping skills.
The school are looking for a:
- Experienced Learning Mentor
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Able to support classes from EYFS - Year 6 and deal with pupils with additional needs
- Good behaviour management skills
- Available full-time

School
The school received 'Good' at its last Ofsted in 2015 and are on there way to Outstanding. The school is a larger than average sized Primary School with approximately 521 pupils on roll. The school have a higher than average number of pupils who are new to England / English and therefore are looking for a candidate who has a patient and approachable attitude. The school run a whole school meeting after school on a Wednesday which everyone is required to attend to.
Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a variety of leading, nationally recognised CPD providers, such as; Team Teach, Educare, Creative Education, and Leeds Trinity University.
These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Accredited Team Teach, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability, Effective Adult Learning Support, Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Differentiation, Data Handling, Assessment for Learning, Planning for Progression, Prevent Duty, Read Write Inc. and Child Protection in Education. In addition to this we work alongside many leaders of education and have our own ex-head teacher that provides candidates with bespoke, high-quality training. The CPD on offer will assist with your personal and career development, making you the most highly sought candidates in the market.
