Learning Mentor

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

A secondary pupil referral service in Central Manchester is seeking to appoint learning mentors!

They have a distant learning team that works closely with KS4 pupils, raising attainment and focusing on exam preparation.

The learning mentors work on a 1:1 basis on all core subjects.

Skills needed:

  • Alternative style to teaching methods
  • Be able to engage reluctant learners
  • Build good relationships but keep boundaries

The pupils within the school can be reluctant learners, engaging and challenging them selves is mostly the issue. The pupils may not be able to access the curriculum like within a mainstream school, so the learning mentors must have an alternative approach to get the pupils focus levels higher.

No experience necessary although desired, looking for passionate people to be able to change the pupils' perspective on education and get them in a good position for leaving into further education.
