Key stage 2 Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or above)

Pay rate: £10.77 - £12.70 per hour
A Primary School in Nelson (BB9) are seeking a teaching assistant to cover an unexpected gap in staffing, predominately working in the Year ¾ classroom. The role will begin in May 2022 and continue throughout the academic year with a potential view of becoming a permanent member of staff. School hours will be 8:30am - 3:30pm with a 30-lunch break and the role is full-time Monday - Friday. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support lower ability children in their learning
- Deliver booster sessions throughout the day to boost attainment levels in core subjects.
- Prepare learning resources and set up the classroom ready for the day
- Keeping children on track with their learning in the classroom
- Recording and reporting pupils progress to the class teacher
The candidate will be working alongside an experienced teacher who will provide detailed plans for the booster sessions, it would be preferable that the candidate has experience in delivering interventions to small groups of children and have strong subject knowledge in core subjects.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with all abilities and be able to differentiate learning to suit each individual child’s needs and be able to communicate clearly with members of staff and younger individuals.The school in question have strong links to the church and the Christian faith underpins all they do in school; therefore, a faith reference would be desirable but not essential. The school is a smaller than average primary school and is rated OFSTED‘outstanding’, most pupils are from a white British heritage and all pupils speak English as their first language.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
