Pay Rate - GBP65 - GBP90 per day depending on experience
Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School we work closely with in Leeds (LS17). This is a fixed term contract which will commence in October 2020 - April 2021.
Working as part of a dynamic and creative Key Stage 2 (KS2) team, the KS2 Teaching Assistant will focus on providing one-to-one support working alongside working with children who may have additional needs including SEN. At times the successful KS2 Teaching Assistant will also be providing general classroom support for a class of 30 children in a mixed Year 3/4 class.
The aim would be to ensure all KS2 pupils reach the national expectations as well as gifted and talented pupils having the opportunity to excel. You will need experience of planning focused lessons for specific individuals or groups of children. It is essential that you can use assessment to identify gaps and weaknesses in order to constantly challenge pupils. The Head Teacher has a positive approach to leading and managing the school. Children in KS2 currently make good to outstanding progress and enjoy coming to school.
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic about creating fun and engaging sessions for mixed ability pupils.
In order to apply for this role, you must have the following:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant in the last 12 months
- Has worked with KS2 aged children
- Used to taking small groups
- Be available to work from October 2020 on a full time basis
- Reference information for the last six years
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable daily
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting children push their attainment to the next level
- Being creative and using innovation to enhance the learning experience of all pupils
- Assessing progress and maintaining discipline
