A Primary school in the Manchester, M22 region has asked Teaching Personnel to help them look for a Teaching Assistant (TA) that can help deliver writing intervention support classes during the build up to SATs for the higher achieving students in KS2 in an effort to help maintain and further increase the high standard of the pupils.
The role would involve taking small groups of around 5-6 pupils out of the classroom, and teaching them on a more personal basis in effort to maintain the high standards. The pupils are all higher achieving so the idea is without distractions they will be able to bounce off each other and help push each other along to achieve even more.
The school has recently appointed a new head teacher and was rated "good" in the latest OFSTED report. The head teacher is looking to push on from this and one of the ways in doing this is by pushing the higher achieving pupils to help them achieve even more. The school is a 2 form entry school and is larger than the average primary.
