KS1, SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a 1:1 SEN support assistant on behalf of a client primary school in the Hulme area of Manchester (M15). With support from the Head Teacher and Senior Leaders of the school, Teaching Personnel are searching for a devoted, hard working and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the schools dedicated staffing team on a full time basis. This role will start off as temporary; however the school are hoping to make a permanent appointment for September.

The role is to work across KS1 with a handful of children with identified special educational needs. The children have varied needs, capabilities and requirements so the school are looking for a candidate who is has a flexible attitude and is able to communicate effectively with children on all levels. The appointed Teaching Assistant will receive constant support from the schools SENCO as the children all work for individual IEPs.

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial but isn't essential. Applicants must have experience supporting children with special educational needs. The role will start as soon as all the necessary checks have been completed.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Have at least 1 years experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • Be available from 01/05/2018 on a full time basis

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
