A specialist school in Burnley have approached Teaching Personnel to assist with their recruitment for September.
The school are seeking a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural Difficulties across KS1 and KS2, who are currently unable to meet the developmental norms of the EYFS/NC and are lacking in confidence. Some pupils also have Dyslexia, ADHD and ASC therefore experience in other types of SEN would be beneficial.
Your role will be to improve attendance and behaviour in children and young people whilst supporting them across the curriculum in varying subjects. The school believes very much in a 'learning through play approach' and encourages the use of art, drama, music, songs and dance to nurture a love of learning. Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace and lessons include mixed ages, which promotes stretch and challenge. More work is expected of the older children, in preparation of returning to their mainstream school.
The school measures children's progress through following areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design. You must be confident in all of the above and have the ability to build strong relationships and trust quickly.
The working hours will be 8:30 - 3:30, 5 days per week.
