A friendly and community orientated mainstream one form entry primary school are looking for Year 1 Class Teacher to join their KS1 team. The school is rated 'Good' and continues to improve each year. The school is located in Islington, N1 and is a 10 minute walk to Angel Underground Station (Northern Line) or a 15 minute walk to Kings Cross Station.

This is a federated school with a clear vision to ensure that the young people in our schools have the best possible educational opportunities and the chance to shine. Working in partnership is so important because the federated schools can spread great practice, learn from each other and share resources. This spirit of collegiality is critical in an educational world.

Childrens' standards at the end of the Reception Year have risen steadily year on year and children make swift progress from their starting points. This is because leaders have taken a range of effective actions to bring about improvements. The school also have a Toddler Group with 16 part time places for 2 year olds' and an After School Club.

Job Specification:

Role: Year 1 Class Teacher

Type: Full-time, until the end of the academic year

Start: 18/03/2019

Pay: Upper pay, main scale (M2-M5)

Requirements: At least one year's experience teaching Year 1, QTS and a DBS on the update service

The school aims to:

The successful applicant should display the following attributes:

  • Experience and knowledge of working with children with a wide range of abilities
  • A general understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum
  • Secure knowledge and skills relating to strategies in working with pupils with Complex Learning Needs
  • An interest, motivation and passion for working with special needs children and developing skills to facilitate this
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • Commitment, initiative and reliability
