Year 2 Teacher  CF62 (Barry Area)

A welcoming primary school in the CF62 area is looking for a confident and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a hands-on classroom role in a well-supported Key Stage 1 environment where planning, assessment and strong classroom presence are valued.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales, supporting pupils as they transition through the later stages of Key Stage 1. The role suits a teacher who is organised, consistent and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

The Role

  • Full classroom responsibility for a Year 2 class

  • Planning and delivering structured lessons across the curriculum

  • Monitoring progress and adapting learning where needed

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider staff team

  • Creating a calm and purposeful learning environment

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Registration with the EWC (or willingness to apply)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 is preferred

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
