Key Stage 1 Teacher – Bury

A Primary School in Prestwich, Bury (M25) is currently looking for a Year 1 teacher to start in January 2020. This is covering a maternity leave and will carry on until the end of the academic year.

The Head Teacher is looking for a teacher with recent Key Stage 1 experience as they will need to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will immerse themselves in the whole school and will be expected to prepare all lessons, mark and evaluate all progress and prepare the Year 1 class for their phonics screening. In return, the school can offer you continued support from a strong leadership team, a teaching assistant in the class room to support SATS interventions and PPA time so you are able to plan and prepare lessons.

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a recently graded “Good” school under the new OFSTED framework. This flagship school in Bury offers great facilities and a support network within their Key Stage 1 department. With a focus on phonics, speaking and listening, the school’s facilities are second to none to allow for a high standard of teaching and learning.

As the Year 1 teacher, experience of working with various phonics schemes, leading small groups and planning full class lessons differentiating for children with Special Educational Needs is vital. In addition, a passion for working with mixed ability, high levels of SEN and EAL children would serve you well.
